These are in fact large sculptures,of architectural models carved out of sectioned masses of standing rocks , or out of entire boulders of the intractable granite gneiss rocks of Mahabalipuram . ये वास्तव में महाबलीपुरम की खड़ी शिलाओं के विभाजित पुंजों में से या कठोर ग्रेनाइट पट्टिताश्म की पूरी की पूरी शिलाओं में से तराशी गई विशाल मूर्तियों के वास्तुशिल्पीय नमूने हैं .
